Least loved, Tanto Combo Edge

Seems like the majority of folks see tantos, combo edges, and even more tanto blades WITH combo edges as lesser options for an everyday carry knife. I'm wondering if there are any of you out there that actually love and use combo edge tanto knives. Looks like you can get good deals on them perhaps due to their lack of popularity. So anyone out actually like or even prefer these?

I would like one tanto & combo, probably black for my collection but not my favorite.

My first BM ever was a 910 D2 Stryker serrated tanto. Carried it for years. Love it.

I'm a no to both tanto and serrated unless you need a first responder type of knife. I do have a couple knives I got for free with partial serrations but the tanto blade shape hold zero appeal to me.

Tanto is OK. I carried a BM Tanto for a while. One with the Axis lock. I forget the number. It was a good cutter. But not my favorite. What I found with the tanto, in actual usage, is the secondary point is very useful. Very. However, often the acute secondary edge to the primary point got in the way, or somehow cut something I didn't want to when using the secondary point. The secondary edge can actually be fairly useful for scraping things. However, 99 times out of a hundred that I'm pulling my pocket knife out, I'm not scraping.
I don't do serrations at all. Full or partial. I have a couple knives with them. Never carry them.

I don't mind using serrations. I don't, however, like sharpening them to my standards. IIRC. BM's lifesharp doesn't cover serrations, and since they are chisel ground rather shallow (and I think the scallops are slightly curved), on thicker stocked BM knives it can be a pain to sharpen the scallops to cut paper.

That being said, I often use the transition between the SE and PE as a sort of "gut hook" when opening boxes.

Last May, I bought a NOS 908SBK Stryker for $60 off regular price. I don't mind the coated blade, but not too fussy about the serrations. However, for that price on a knife that was discontinued going on 4 years ago, I had to jump on it. I actually use and carry it and I really like the Stryker as a fairly robust folder. It quickly became one of my preferred larger type folders.

Interestingly, at the time, the 909 SBK Stryker wasn't reduced in price, but since I preferred the drop point instead, I was happy. However, a couple of months later, just after I had spent money on a 551-1, I (of course) checked online and saw the 909 for $70 off regular retail. Drat, I would have picked one of those up and now, they are long gone.
