I found this official Boy Scout knife in a barn. I started cleaning it up but the leather handle was in very bad shape. I can’t seem to find a place to order replacements, can anyone help?
I’d put a picture with this post but I don’t know how to do it, also looking for help on how to include a picture.

Sadly, there is no source right now for the H style washers. There was a leather worker making them a few years ago, but he passed and no one has picked up the project.

Most guys make their own starting with a standard oval shape, then cut the openings by hand with an exacto knife or they use an oblong or rectangle leather punch. It's a long job.

This was a nice referb that might might help you out -

As much as I like stacked leather handles. The leather H required for a Western bifurcated tang, seems like a poor design. Using scales is perfect for these knives.

What an awesome vid. Thanks for sharing that. 👍

Something tells me that the guy restoring/narrating has been in a "shop" or two, once or twice, in his lifetime. Incredible.

Also, interesting tang set-up on that knife. I don't believe I've ever seen one like that.
