Leather and canvas...?

Anyone ever made a folder or multitool sheath using leather as the back and canvas on the front?
 
No, but I have a few SOG MT sheaths (love their power lock multi-tools, but I always lose them) two in leather, one in nylon. I believe they are constructed the same way. Only thing I don't like is that they are riveted together, but that should be easy to change.

What is making you want to use two materials instead of one?
 
Getting good use from small scraps of leather and the trashed out dickies carpenter pants i have worn out
