does anyone in the forums make ww2 style frogs with the 2 straps and buckles? I really dig those and think it would be cool to get something like that for my atlanta cutlery and IMA knives with no sheaths, otherwise use this thread to post cool frogs, im pretty sure the frog is that leather bit that holds the knife on the belt right?

anyway, yes its a slow day at work.

:P

Actually i'm sure any one of the talented leather guys around here could do it. It really wouldn't be that hard, I don't think.

I agree but I'm not a leather artist myself although I often wish I was. No doubt easy for them, near impossible for the simple man.

They say brain surgery is easy if you know what your doing, never tried it myself.

I think those are the Sam Browne style frogs. I have seen one or two by Wildmanh that are really nice with old style D-rings etc. Very cool! And Im sure Pugs could fix you up as well.
I have wondered myself if the real antique ones are wide enough for our Khuks. Most of the ones ive seen are sword frogs. I have seen officer SB's larger tho?

Leather is really easy to work with. Give it a try, buy shoulder leather, it's nice and thick.

You mean something like this?
The one on the right is the old and mine on the left

AWWW Man perfect! Would one need to send in the knife to have one made or could you be given girth measurements to make one?

The frogs are pretty cool, and yes I would need the khuk to make as they are made to fit exact.

Actually would you need the knife or just the sheath? I gotta get into leather so I can check out other peoples cool blades.

Aww I got it. I'll be your assistant in charge of scheduling, shipping and receiving. Send em to me, I'll make sure they are worthy and then forward to you and then you send em back to me so I can fondle the leather and get some nice leather smell and then I'll send em home. (maybe)
The fact that we're on opposite sides of the continent shouldn't be a logistic issue should it?

I could probably do it with just the scabbard which would help on shipping, I would need a measurement in inches on how far the handle comes up from the scabbard so I dont short the straps. Or we can go with your plan on helping me out, you would benefit much better that way.

Yeah I like my plan, I'm not sure how much a month I could pay you to be your assistant but I'll figure something out.

wow yeah pugs let me know when you have some leather in again, and did you ever get some croc? I would love a croc leather sheath for one of my victorians-- and yeah thats exactly the kind of frog im talking about

How about a frog tinder pouch to go with your new frog?
