Leather belt recommendations?

I just found a bunch of my dad's belt buckles and s thinking about getting some belts to put them on. I also want another one or two good belts with "normal" buckles.

My girlfriend gave me one from her park service days that is really nice but it is black and I usually wear a brown belt. It is from Boston Leather and I will probably get another one from them but I wanted to get some other makers to check out.

What I like about the Boston Leather belt is it is not a straight strip of leather but has a bit of an arc to it. I think it helps keeping my pants above my nonexistent derriere without applying a tourniquet to my lower half.

No pictures I see of belts online show whether they are straight or slightly curved.

Anyway which belts do you like?

I am not looking for dress belts BTW.

I have some belts from Filson and Coronado Leather I really like. Both are double thick and the Coronado one has Bison on the show side. There are many guys here in the forum that have recommended The Belt Man, but I have not tried one.

I have had one from Angel leather shop for about a year now and can say it is a high quality piece of leather. From their sales page "crafted using 9 oz. full grain cowhide leather which is roughly 1/8" thick". You an get it in single or double prong and the buckles are removable and can be replaced with a buckle.

Thanks guys, I'll look into them. I am going to need a few of them so I might get a few different ones.

Check out bullhidebelts.com. Full grain bridle leather, highest quality belts on the market. I have one and been wearing daily for the past 3 years and no stretch anywhere. Bought the regular and the damn thing is so thick, my iPhone defender belt clip won't close fully. How's that for generous thickness. Bought the 'dress' which is a bit thinner, but still thicker than the competitor full thick. Works perfect for jeans and carthartt carpenter ripstop pants. Inner side is super smooth too- helps for easy pull-out of the belt when unloading edc gear from the pants for the laundry pile. Being a belt guy, you KNOW when a shitty belt is rough on the inside and grabs the pants when you're pulling the belt off the pants. So irritating! Good luck on your search!

Thanks Stog75. Another for the list.

Funds became tight, so it will be put off for a few. If I did not need a few it would be one thing...

I like the full-sized Bianchi Ranger belt for "substantial" pants ... but it is limited to pants that have belt loops that are large enough. Over the years, it will develop that body-hugging curve that you describe.

Pricey, though ... :(

EDIT - Major oopsy ... I had both of my belts in the early 1970's, and (based on reviews that I have just been reading online) the current production cannot hold a candle to the belts that were made in California back-in-the-day.
