Several years ago my wife and I stayed with some friends in Soldotna, Alaska. My friend was showing me a very handsome tooled leather belt that he had purchased in Australia which really caught my eye. Near the buckle it had a horizontal leather sheath stitched onto the belt. It wasn't huge, but perfect for a low profile carry of a slim traditional knife like a stockman.
Has anybody seen anything like this or know where I can find one?

Cabela's has an 'Australian stockman's belt' that sounds like what you are describing. Thought about getting one myself.

There it is.
Thanks for the heads up. That's pretty much what I'm looking for.

*** Actually, it got many bad reviews for quality/craftmanship in the Cabelas website. Maybe I won't buy that one. But now that I know what it's called a "stockman's belt" I can find a better one. ***
