Is it possible to get a musty odor out of leather? For sheathes is it better to leave it alone or will saddle oil work to remove the odor?

Thanks for the quick response Irv. Is there a particular brand of saddle soap to use and how do you go about drying the leather after it's treated?

Try Murphys Oil Soap to clean it; then saddle oil or a leather cream. Let it sit in the sun then wipe the excess off.

I cleaned a bunch of musty even moldy Schrade sheaths with a product called Leather Therapy ®.
Use their RESTORER & CONDITIONER. It actually inhibits the mold & mildew from growing in the leather.
They have added a several products since I bought my bottle.
It is expensive, but it really works.
It is the only product I use for moldy/musty leather any more!
