Sorry, this has nothing to do with sheaths.
I'm just fishing for input on stuff to treat my new boots with.
He's my Xmas gift...

:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
Now, is the Fiebing's Aussie Leather Conditioner with Beeswax that I got for my sheath attempts an appropriate way to treat these boots?
What would you use, and would you clean the brand new leather before applying the goop?
Soap and water fine to clean them?
I've primarily used mink oil in the past but it seems to create problems with the stitching. Beeswax works... I don't know if I like it or not.
Manufacturers don't always want their products to last (repeat customers spend more money) and I'd rather hear some input from actual leather workers.
Please forgive the boot question in BF.
There is some excellent input here that often is very relevant with things that have nothing to do with knives.
Thanks.
