Leather Charge and the 154CM Blade

I recently bought a Leatherman Charge on Ebay for about half the price of retail. The only question is concerning the clip point blade. It doesn't have 154CM stamped on it like I've seen on others advertised on the internet. Did all Charges have the 154 steel? Thanks for any answers.

All Charges, except the TTi, use 154CM for the pointed blade. The TTi uses
S30V for its blade steel.

You may have gotten one that either has a Wave blade or one where the blade missed the marking step. One of my first Charges came w/o 154CM marking and I returned it to Leatherman. It was promply fixed and sent back to me.

I believe I was ripped off. The clip point blade looks just like the wave blade. How can this happen? I doubt Leatherman would replace it since I bought it on Ebay. It was advertised as "brand new" but without the box. The statement is true. "Buyer beware!"

Maybe it's actually a Wave that was falsely advertised as a Charge? Maybe someone did a modification? Look at the review on equipped.com which shows detailed pictures. The blades and the holes for one-handed opening are a little different. The TTi's blade is slightly longer.

Everything looks like a Charge except the clip point blade. It definitely is not the CM154 blade from all the photographs I've seen. It could be a problem with quality control if others have had to return it for that purpose.

I called Leatherman and they told me to send in my Charge and the clip point blade would be replaced with no charge. At least they back up their product.
