I'm not one to post video links usually because it can be annoying if you can't watch the video. That said, I found this video to be enlightening and interesting.
Please add your thoughts if you agree or disagree with this gentleman's findings.
I picked up some Tan Kote yesterday and it appears that I would have been better off with Resolene.
I was as surprised as the tester by the beeswax. I use Neatsfoot, but I'll certainly be using it more now. Can anyone tell me, does a light coat of Neatsfoot interfere with dye? I know it darkens dye after dyeing, but I've never used the oil before dyeing. I plan to (gently) push for a natural finish on my sheaths anyway, but I know I'll never do away with dye entirely.
Anyway, here's the video. I'm interested in everyone's opinion and experience as far as finishes goes. I wish that he had been able to do other finishes, but I think this is a good start.
