I just thought I'd best post a pic of the new sheath I just got for my Desert Outlaw Bowie...:D :D :D

Disclaimer: This sheath doesn't exist because the maker does NOT do fixed blades... ;) :p :D

I had him agree to make a fixed blade sheath for me about a year and a half ago but he said that he preffered not to do it, so I let him off the hook. He would have made it though if I pushed it, that's the kind of guy he is. You have a rare and very nice sheath there my friend.

Thanks Matteo, this was one that I was indebted to Bobby B to create, as we were in the process of a knife sale and I had a wayward money order that NEVER made the trip out to his door! Purchased on July 5th and mailed on the same day, it never reached him, nor was it ever returned. I put in a lost money order claim with the Post Office and after 60 days they refunded the money order to me, which I recently received. BUT during that time, sir Bobby B had the opportunity to politely ask if I'd make a sheath for him, no pressure you understand, lol but...it would be a good thing to do...and so I did, Matteo, I do appreciate your understanding of our email conversations and letting me off the hook, but on Bobby B's hook I dangled until all was completed. And we actually handled my debt to him with a couple of other things so he didn't have to wait out the 60 days, which I was happy about, as was he!

That sheath is quite a work, I formed the leather down tightly to the clip of the bowie so it's a trim fitting sheath, the welt is fairly thick and has an arch to it so the guard rides in and cam locks the knife securely inside, works pretty well and no, I didn't not regain my fondness for fixed blade sheaths :(

Thanks Bobby B for posting and not saying who made the sheath, very clever of you...;)

Here is a scan of the welt side of this sheath, the belt loop was made long enough so that the stitching inside is below the guard to
prevent premature wearing on the threads, which are also grooved into the leather, but it doesn't hurt to have them lower, plus it allows the sheath to be tilted when you go to sit down.

And John, there's a Henchman waiting to come home I'm sure!

Gary,
When you do such nice work, it's hard to resist an opportunity to get a sheath made... :o

I had to post it though, since you did such a great job on it.

I guess if you REALLY don't want to do it, I'll understand... ;)
Thanks again, and I hope I didn't make your life TOO unpleasant with my impatience...:D

That's a sweet sheath Bobby! You're a lucky man to get a fixed blade sheath from Gary. And Gary, it's another piece of work to be proud of. Go baby, go!

Cheers,
BJB :D
