Was thinking about things I'd like from Buck and a stacked leather 124 came to mind. I'm pretty sure one has never been offered even as a Custom or build-out but thought I'd ask. I'd love one especially with a distressed brown sheath.

That would be a nice knife, especially if they gave it a steel upgrade, as well.

I think it's a great idea. A less square, more rounded handle would be nice. I wouldn't be against a Brahma style 124 too (with a leather sheath, yes).

Ooooooooou...

How about this stacked leather 124 my buddy will list tomorrow on auction site. I want one so bad.

Heh, Makael, I saw that today and wanted to link it to this tread. Nice knife and see it is already here.

I've always had a soft spot for the stacked leather handles and seeing any model of Buck with such would whet my whistle. This 124 is a good looking piece. I was lucky, years ago, and picked up a 103, from an auction site, with stacked leather handle. It is still one of my favorites. The Brahma series is OK, I really don't see a need for the micarta spacers, but, it is what it is and I have one of each. What would be the ideal? How about a 118, stacked leather, and D2 steel?

The issue with a leather stacked handle for the 124 is its tang. It's a full tang knife and it would require you to cut down the tang in order to install a leather stacked handle.

All of the other 100 series Bucks wouldn't require such a drastic modification in order to install a leather stacked handle.

I believe the BCCI 124 had a similiar handle but not made out of leather (LUCITE)?. I'm fairly certain a rat tail as thick as the blade on the 124 vs the other 100 series would pose no problem. That is one knife I have to get.

They offered a 122/124 Nemo special edition with phenolic handle
some years ago too. and the chip flint with buffalo handle. I am sure,
Buck has the tools to make the required slimline tangs.

Well, TAG, I don't know a lot about the knife. It is from 2008 and I think it was ordered by a company like L.L.Beans or Cabelas. I think it is an overrun because it has no etchings on it. Sorry, that I don't know more.

I has NS guard and pommel with buffalo spacers.
I have to look if it is serialized.

I thanks, Bad, I remember. I got this information the first time several years ago. And the knife is from the mid nineties. The other one is from 2008. But I'm getting old ... But nevertheless I love this knife and would like to have a 124 with the stacked leather handle too.
