Hey guys,

Just recently added another CRK folder into the collection - a large Classic with Blue Leather Inlays (DOB: 6/26/2002).

This folder has got to be the nicest I've owned, and a good addition to my EDC rotation.

Anyways, I've never seen a Sebenzas w/ leather inlays before since I began getting into knives. A quick look-around the internet seem to indicate that they're not as commonly found as other inlayed Sebbies - any particular reason?

I've been thinking about that one! Its between that or micarta... Can you take some more pics in some different lighting?

I think most people worry about the durability and long term appearance of the leather inlay, but the one I handled was very nice and the leather seemed hard and damage resistant.

I've never seen a user leather inlay before. Anybody EDC one for more than a year or so without coddling it? How does it look?

Is the leather "stabilized" like the wood inlays (which are filled with an acrylic)? That could make the leather very long-lasting. If it's just conventional leather, I'd be concerned about wear, although I supposed CRK could replace the inlays pretty easily.

I've heard that CR has stopped making these. I had a Large/Blue leather one and it was a great knife!!!

How was the feel of the leather? It looks just about flush with the titanium, is that right?

I have always liked these...i think it will make a great edc...IMO leather gets better with use as it ages, i think wear adds character . :)

I always thought these leather inlay were cool, but I would like a black or maybe a brown color. I just do not care for the "blue" color. Than again, I dont like the 21 blade shape either.....:)

The feel of the leather is smooth and firm, but it does have a the tiniest bit of give if enough pressure is applied; however it seems pretty durable and I would guess it'll hold up to reasonable use. The leather is almost flush with the titanium scales - if held up in better light you can just barley see the edges of the titanuim where the leather is inlayed in. I'll try to get better pics of it later after work.

In natural light it looks more black than blue, but I'd agree that a dark brown leather inlay would look pretty cool. This guy is definitely gonna be a user Sebenza, so in a year or two I'll give an update on how the inlays wears from daily use.
