Hey all,

My Hawk needed some pants and I figured it was worth trying to make something while I wait for my kydex from David Brown arrives...

Went down to a local leather place and bought some tools and leather and knocked this out in the afternoon. It's my first time making a sheath or using leather. It fits like a glove and is solid as a rock, while also feeling very light and comfortable. Nothing over the top pretty about it, just a rough and ready functional rig! Here are some pics, enjoy :)

Nice! But be careful, once you start leather working, it's hard to stop. Suddenly you'll start seeing all kinds of things to make holders and accessories for. (You know what I need? I good leather strap with a snap for my car keys. And you know what? That wallet is looking kind of ratty, and while I'm at it, I think I'l whip up a weather covering for my car...)

Hahaha well said! My wallet is falling to pieces and I want a leather side bag...

nice job!. Just how I like to carry it:cool:

Love the KDSH:thumbup:

That looks awesome, even though it is Moo-dex :)

very cool rig you got there. are you going to dye the leather, or leave it natural?

Awesome sheath!

This is too funny!

Man your leather work is better than the 'professional' stuff that the local saddler here does. Nice one :)

Very cool! I love home made stuff! :)

There's a thread over in the sheath forum on just this subject. So often the most pride you have in something, is that which you made yourself.

Well done, and I hope you make more and show it off. I'm most curious about the screw connectors you used for the strap, so nice. Where'd you find those?

Thanks guys! I have only ever made 2-3 things in my life so I was very happy with the fact that it worked at all.

The screws are just plain old chicago screws, just like the ones you mount the tek lok with!

I like that they are phillips head, every one I've found here has been slotted but for a few allen head that I haven't seen in a good while.
