Often I read blog here that slam Leatherman Knives...Today i purchased A leatherman knife the K500X...for 15 bucks, NIB..here are the specs
Specifications:

Blade Material: 154CM
Closed Length: 4.5"
Open Length: 7.6"
Blade Length: 3.1 "
Weight: 4.6oz (132 grams)
Blade Style: Straight Edge
Lock Mechanism: Lockback
Handle: Skeletonized glass-filled nylon

Seems like good materials went into the knife...what are the thoughts on my purchase...?

I don't actually have the knife yet..got it off ebay..but agian i hear only good things about leatherman multitools and bad things about leatherman knives..but when i read the description of the knife..blade and handle material...figured sounds like a cool knife..i guess only time will tell....

I review alot of knives, there isn't much on this knife specifically and i havent had a chance to test one...but considering it is a Leatherman, a very reputable name and the fact that it retails for around 60 bucks and you payed 15, i would say you made a good buy. I dont know of any Leatherman products with a value of less that 15 bucks. From what i have read i believe Leatherman has good intentions with there knives, no they are not up to the standards of there multi-tools, but they will get there.

I have used Leatherman MT for almost 40 years. Still EDC them today. Last year I got the chance to handle all of the Leatherman folding knives at Bass Pro shop. None of them were up to par. They did have great materials and looked good but the F&F and lockups were lacking. Blade play in all directions and the multiple bladed ones were difficult to deploy. I love their MT, but will not buy one of their knives. However if you get one for $15 I guess you really can't go wrong and just work around the issues.

Great score bro! I've got a couple of their cheap folders and their alright but I've always been curious about their higher end stuff.

I bought a small LM knife several years ago from Target - I carried it around the house for quite a while as a beater. It has a flat blade screwdriver on it that I used to open paint cans, and the blade was partially serrated. I still have the knife - but it now just sits at the bottom of one of my knife storage boxes.

It has held up very well considering the price I paid for it. As long as you are not trying to pry open car trunks with it I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Share some pics and thoughts after you get it.
