Sorry if this has been asked and answered many times but I couldn't find it if it had been. I used and carried the old original Leatherman for 20+ years and it is still great; finally decided I wanted the locking features so have a Wave which I carry and use regularly, nice piece but the Phillips tends to pop out on it's own; mostly it is just a little annoying and not an issue but it ended up out and locked the other day when I was using the pliers a lot. I note the star/torks looking screws but none of my bits seem to fit; the dimple in the middle gets in the way. Guess I'm a doofus but can someone set me straight on how to remedy the problem? Thanks

Do you have the older wave with the Phillips only driver? Or the "new" wave with the leatherman interchangeable bit driver? I am not sure exactly what the problem is.... Are you trying to say that the screwdriver tool is coming out and deploying by itself?

Well I don't have bits so guess it is old and yes, the Phillips just slides out by itself and sometimes as you use the tool it gets locked open but mostly it just flops out in the way.

send it back to leatherman for repair, all leatherman tools have a 25 year warranty.

If you disassemble it yourself you risk voiding your warranty but you can take the wave apart with a security torx driver. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=security+torx&x=0&y=0

i have a Wave which i purchased around 2000 .. it has what i have seen referred to as Tork Security Plus .. a 5-pointed Torx Security head .. anyone know the size on these?
