Greetings,
I know the Artisan gets a lot of good feedback on the forum. However, there is a new leather sewing machine for sale close to me and looking for feedback. It is a Ferdco 6/6. I would save a lot on shipping and I think I can get a deal on it. Thoughts?

Thanks,

Dennis

Can't help you on the Ferdco 6/6, but over ten years personal experience (trouble free experience) with the Artisan products would make me cast my vote for them every time. Shipping cost, to me, is a small factor WHEN compared to the trouble free service I have had. Any way I'd say try the Ferdco at the sales facility before you buy and if it suits you, it will probably last "forever" also. If you are short on experience, it's probably a good idea to stay away from used machines. If you can't spot a train wreck, you are at the mercy of the seller. Good luck!

This entire thread and some Google searches might help you even more. http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1042

From what I've heard of the machine it can do the job.....but do I understand correctly it costs somewhere in the ballpark of 5-6K?? Can that be right?? Is so, you can get the Artisan, or Cobra 4, or Cowboy 4500 (longer arms) for half that.....just my thoughts.
