Anyone know of any tutorials online or good books specifically dealing with leather sheathmaking? I've purchased some basic leatherworking books, but they have very limited information relating to making sheaths for knives. I'm having limited success thus far on my own, but some pointers or solid instructional information would be very helpful!

Thanks in advance, guys!

The best single thing I did for my sheath making skills was to purchase Chuck Burrow's Wild Rose Trading Co. Custom Knife Sheaths video from CCIV. It's a two DVD set and covers a basic pouch sheath and a Mexican loop style sheath. Everything from pattern to cutting to sewing to tooling. Chuck is a natural teacher and is very easy to follow.

At first, I was just winging it, going off of some limited instructions I'd seen in a book. It really helps to see a master at work to pick up some tips and tricks.

Edited to add: Pretty much any of the CCIV (Center Cross Instructional Videos) are gold, and there are a number of them. Great knife making vids which preserve the art of some of today's best makers for future generations.

I've got to 2nd Paul Longs "Basic Pouch Sheaths" plus he frequents "Sheaths and Such" forums here.
