A guy I work with has a couple of old knives, a PAL and a similar quality hunting knife, he's looking for a good quality sheath, nothing fancy, just functional. I saw some in a catalog, and they were about $6-$8. but they looked really thin and cheap.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Forum Member Gary Graley makes killer folder sheaths, no fixed blade sheaths, but has a waiting list. You can see them here

I just got two custom molded sheaths, one folder and one fixed blade, from Gerald Barrowcliff. They are very well made and beautiful. Very nice work at a very reasonable price. Nothing fancy, just nice smooth well fitted leather. Fits the knifes like a glove. Gerald had a booth at the Eugene show and I left two of the knifes I picked up with him to make sheaths for. He does not have a web site, but you can email him and he will send you a brochure with pictures and prices.

I have one of Mr. Barrowcliffs fixed blade sheaths and it is exceptionally well made.

As mentioned, Gary is the best but alas, he doesnt make fixed blade sheaths anymore. Email me if you want to talk about some sheaths, I may be able to help.

Those are very nice looking folder sheaths!

I was wondering if anyone has seen a sheeth that would fit a multi-tool that had a tactical-style clip instead of a belt-loop?

I find it uncomfortable to carry my SOG PowerLock in my pocket when I am not wearing a belt, but I use it so much I dont want to be without it.

I have one of lifters4him sheaths for a buck 112 and it is also a well made sheath and works perfect for me.I plan on getting another made by lifter for a 532 buck.gailt
