Lots of threads on leather sheaths and tarnish vs nylon. I like the Buck leather sheath I received with my new 110. I think it just looks good and have used them in the past but also had a nasty surprise a few years back after removing an almost brand new 110 after it had been in the new leather sheath for a couple months. That knife and sheath is gone now and I have brand new one and I bought a nylon sheath on ebay for it but I like the leather one much better. Anyway does anyone know of a way to make the new leather sheath less acidic? I have thought of soaking it in a container of water and baking soda solutition for a good while and then plain water followed by slowly letting it dry out with an old beater chinese 110 copy in it. Once completely dry treat it with a non acidic oil. Boredom is a terrible thing :)

I have a different leather sheath problem. The belt loop has stretched so much it started flopping around on my belt. I bought a nylon one but is there a way to fix the leather one. I like the look and feel of leather better. It

cut and restitch it, or buy a new one. they arent real expensive.

The belt loop needs to be a different style. Buck loops the belt loop. If you get a flat riveted or flat sewn sheath loop you wont have that problem. If you'd like a picture of what I'm referring to I can get one later.
