Leather sheaths by Heber Ellsworth

This thread is intended to show off my work. If all goes well, I will continue to post pictures of my sheaths here. If you have one of my sheaths, feel free to post them in this thread.

First up is a custom Woodsman sheath. It has Double stitching, a D-ring and Dangler loop along with the standard belt loop. The leather is 8-10oz Russet Saddle skirting from Wicket & Craig. All edges are blackened and polished then I finished it off with Montana Pitch Blend Leather dressing. The hide I cut the sheath from had a brand (probably the cows ID mark) which I managed to work into the sheath.

This sheath is a custom Bushcrafter with the same specs as the Woodsman sheath above. D-ring with dangler loop and Double stitching. Black edging. 8-10oz Brown Saddle Skirting. Yesterday I applied the Leather dressing and it is still drying. The sheath will be a bit lighter when the custom receives it in a few days.

I just finished another sheath in Russet, it's a rounded tip Hunter sheath with double stitching. The pattern fits a Core knife (don't know the pattern) nicely. Leather is a touch darker then it will be after the Leather dressing dries in a few days.

Here are two custom Machete sheaths that I just finished. Both are made from 8-10oz Brown Saddle Skirting from Wickett & Craig and finished with Montana Pitch Blend Leather Dressing. They are Double stitched with Maxed nylon Lacing cord by hand, have 1-1/2" D-rings with Dangler loops.

The leather is darker right now because they were just finished. Color will be lighter in a few days.

That sheath for the Core Knife (Corehart) is coming to me. I wanted to post to tell everyone that Heber was great to work with. Very responsive. And, he listened to what i wanted ... and nailed it. Thanks much Heber. Can't wait to see it live and in person!

So, I just received a new sheath from Heber. I have some pictures to share but I also wanted to speak up and say what a pleasure it has been to work with him: he's been extremely friendly and accommodating and in many ways has made me feel like I'm making a friend, not performing a business transaction. I am totally impressed with the quality and style of the sheath, but I am equally impressed with what a genuinely nice guy Mr. Ellsworth is. Thanks again Heber! BTW this sheath is for a Bushfinger.

The nice, professional looking pictures were taken by Heber (hope you don't mind me sharing these for you) and the crappier pictures with the knife in the sheath were taken by myself this evening. Sorry about the quality: I got in late and I'm heading back out for a few so I only had time to rip off something quick. Anyway, here they are. Hopefully the quality of the sheath is apparent. It looks and feels great: the stitching is great, the sheath has no blemishes and it is a really great fit for the knife!

I got basically the same sheath besides color as you, Pveiled. I am very impressed with mine. It holds my bushcrafter, Ladyfinger, and bushfinger all very securely. I also really like the looks of it, too.

Gents, thanks for the compliments! I'm glad that you like your sheaths. Sean, your pictures aren't to bad, there better then a lot of ones I've taken. If I take pictures out side in the shade, or with the sun at the right Angle, things tend to turn out pretty good, most of the time.

A Bushcrafter sheath, Double stitched, Standard D-ring and Dangler, with firesteel loop is $60 + shipping. Thats in Brown, Tan or Black. Custom colors like Dark brown or Mahognay are +$5, a Shackle instead of the D-ring is also +$5. Shipping is normally $8. Thanks for the compliments and for asking!

Here is a new Custom Bushcrafter that I finished last night. Specs are 8-10oz Brown Saddle Skirting, Double stitched by hand with Artificial Sinew. It has a standard belt loop, Dangler loop and the two are connected by a Brass Shackle. The Chicago screws are also brass to match, all edges are burnished and Blacked. It's sealed with 2 coats of Montana Pitch Blend leather dressing.

This sheath is already claimed but if you want one just like it, they are $68 delivered. Custom colors or other options are extra. Thanks!

Here's another sheath that I finished over the weekend. This one is for an old Western, the customer had it restored (blade polished, new edge, new Leather washers) then sent to me for a sheath. To Jazz things up a bit I used a piece of leather that had some nice Character. . . . This is one of my standard Pancake style sheaths made from 8-10oz Brown Saddle Skirting. Hand sewn with Nylon Lacing thread, standard Black edge treatment and Finished with Montana Pitch Blend Leather Dressig. The hardware is brass to match the brass guard. The sheath is lined with a layer of brown Saddle skirting to protect the edge from the snap and give the front extra strength.
