Any suggestions for makers of leather sheaths for folders. I prefer the option of vertical or horizontal carry......How about it? I don't mind paying premium prices for the right kit. Oh and must have a website which will post worldwide....Ta.

I like leather:eek: but ran into a situation where it proved a liability. I bought a Buck Alpha folder for general outdoor carry. I got the pretty one with ATS-34, rosewood scales and a leather sheath. When I got out into the desert and got dirty, grit found it's way into the sheath and scratched the hell out of those nice wood scales. Now when I carry that knife it goes into a cordura sheath.

I second Lifter. He's a really great guy and does good work. Other people to look at are Gary Graley (if he's taking orders at the moment)- he and Lifter are both members here; and for high end kit: Kenny Rowe. Kenny's work is just fantastic. Leatherman here on the forums also does good, quality work.

Of those mentioned, I'm about to get a Graley sheath that looks pretty good, and I have a sheath by Lifter which is VERY well done. Hope this helps!

My thanks to all who posted replies, I'm currently drooling over the prospective sites....

Seems I've posted this picture quite a bit recently. Here is a sheath for the Spydrdo Manix I had made by Vess Leather mentioned above by irabren. I had him tilt the sheath forward and also expose more of the knife for a faster, easier knife draw. I love it. I don't hardly know I'm carrying it and there is easy access to my pocket for another folder, if desired.
