leather strip loop thingy on scabbard

Actually Sam, Keith (Ferrous Wheel) discovered another use for that leather thong deely bobber. He loops one of them elastic hair scrunchies through it and slips it over the khuk handle as a rough and ready retaining strap. Makes excellent sense for a fairly active person who likes wearing his khuk while hiking, etc., where a slip or a stumble could result in a large, heavy, knife falling out of the scabbard to play "patty cake" with your leg.

Didn't some knowledgeable person, somewhere talk about the khukuri being carried in a waist sash in the front, rather than a belt and having a button to secure it from falling?

Er...JP, or Mr. Marsh, or somebody like that?

Don't think you'll find too many sashes in the men's clothing department down at Sears and Roebuck, but I reckon a determined fellow could figure out how to make himself one.
