Since I purchased the CO2 laser (Aeon Mira 7 90w) I've been doing seamless patterns for my knife sheaths, some abstract, some simulating animal fur and some with drawings, this week I organized them as a catalog for my customers. Hope you all like them!

They are fantastic, I'd love room for a co2 laser, and my fibre laser doesn't work with leather.

that is cool as hell!
I'm stoked on your idea- there's a lot of value added to your customers, with about the same amount of work at your end. I love smart shit like that :)

I just picked up a laser machine, and although it can't do what you're doing, the world of what it can do has opened up a little bit to me thanks to this thread.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks Guys! It took a lot of work to develop the whole procedure of sheath making using the co2 laser.

I can't see #2 well enough to understand it.

Don't try to understand it, it has no logic, I went for the looks of something pulp fiction magazines had, but with no structure or recognizable features.

Fiber was my first laser, it took me about 3-4 months to jump on the co2, I now use it far more than the fiber.

If you make a line of knives besides custom work, spending the time to draw the sheaths and then have a catalog of textures is a great advantage. Regarding your laser machine, if you put the effort, I'm sure you will make them even better, if you need help just ask!
Great!!
#10 is the winner for me.

#10 was provided by a customer from a paid site, my condition to use it was I make a pattern for you, but then I'm free to use as I like, he agreed.

PS: Some bonus sheaths I did over the couple of years I have the laser:

Pablo- I will definitely reach out to you once I have some less stupid questions.
my machine has a fairly small workspace, but I could certainly engrave small sheaths with it. It's a Gweike G2

largest kitchen knife sheath I make is 12.5"x 7" I guess your laser is bigger that that. To hold the leather down I 3d printed some T shaped clips that go into the honeycomb bed, they do the job amazingly well

I have 150mm x 150mm. I was wondering if I can eke out a little more in one direction by tilting things a bit. There's going to be a fair investment in time through experimentation involved and I'd be lying if I said that I'm not procrastinating getting started. I've stumbled across a big time hole! It's good, learning about this new tool and how to use it will save me time and help me make better stuff.
