Leather Wallet/Sheath Combo

In dreaming of other ways to daily carry my Esee Izula, I had an idea for a leather wallet/sheath combo. Surely I wasn't the first to think of something like this but after some extensive google searching I'm just not finding anything. Im thinking something along the lines of the long wallet in the photo attached but with a sheath on the outside of the wallet for the Izula. Does anyone know of anything like this being made or will I need to go full custom order with a leather shop?

Never thought of this idea before. Can't wait to see your proto.

I think the problem you'll have with trying it on a roper style wallet, or any wallet in general is that your body is not flat. As such, putting a flat piece of steel on something so long will become a literal pain in the butt if it's on the inside of the pocket especially, and if it's facing out allowing the wallet to curve the knife will snag on your pocket during removal. I carry a roper wallet every day and mine curves too much for this to be a feasible project. The same general principle applies to an idea I came up with a year or two ago with a 'belt sheath'. Biggest difference in usability though is that the belt sheath is easier to keep out of sight.

As with anything carry related it all involves a trade off. If your comfort is one you want to trade in I'm quite sure a custom maker would do it for you but can't imagine any large operation would be willing to open themselves up to the headache or just custom nature of the work.

I use to make what I called a wallet sheath. There really was no wallet just a sheath about the size of you back pocket. Quit making em for the reasons Eagle stated. Eventually it curved and the knife didn't.

This is a cool idea.

It's a good idea. A lot of it depends on the knife size and shape as others have mentioned. I tried a couple similar things in the distant past. First was a phone case / knife sheath / titanium toothpick combo:

and then this one (when I was first starting to do leather) with a front pocket wallet and a tiny folder I have by Brad Zinker:

Good luck with your quest!
