Almost 3 years ago, i was asked by one of mi knifemaker friend, to make a leather sheath to a verry interestning kiridashi. It was necesary to make the sheath after a model, he give me a picture and i must figure out how can i do it.So i show you now a work in progress tutorial.
Maybe some of you recognize this knife in original modell, i dont have anny picture of that, sadely.

This is the finish product, the picture i have to orientation is almost like this :), but after one picture it not be clear to me wat is proprely the sheath compozition, how can i make it to hold in safe that outstanding thin blade, how manny layers are necesary, what kind of leather can i use to obtain a good toughnes but not be the finel product to thick, etc., etc.

After that i painted the leather pieces and i sew the top loop section , also the final surface layer on the face, after the button mounting.

Now i can sew all togehter, but first i must show on the back of the sheath, two sewing steps in 3 holes, this is two sewing steps of the front layer sewing line in corner, it holds all the layers.

After that, i can preparing to sew it all around. Now i think the holes its a bit to big, in that times i make the holes with a 1,5 mm drill in my Dremel, now i use just 1-1,2 mm drills for that, depends of wat kind of thread i use.

I use the Dremel, holding it in hand, so in the beginings, on back of the sheaths sometimes the holes is not exactely in the groove line, espetialy when the sheath shapes is very iregular  I time my hands learn to keep the line , this time is almost good.
