Hi there, i'm new here, my name is paul, and i make amteur swords and knives and such, Nothing to serious yet but i hope to eventually.
Alot of my blades righte now are just made to "look" like i want them too, fancy or iconic shapes, the right preportions regardless of imbalance issues etc.
As of yet i haven't ventured into very detailed handles, only using engraved steel from a lathe, or paracord wrapping. But for this particular blade, i need a leather wrapped handle, The handle is round, and made of steel, the pattern of leather is almost crisscross, Are there any good suggestions for how/what a good one looks like ? (sorry for not using search if there is already a thread for sumthing like this, apparently i'm not allowed since i'm not a paying member)

Search online or go to the library for Renaissance swords. You should be able to see endless close-ups of sword hilts and how they are decorated.

Also there happens to be an excellent forum dedicated entirely to swords here. There are a lot of custom makers on there and they could probably help you.
