Leatherman Bit Driver - Fuse and Core?

I've just acquired a Knifeless Fuse and have noticed that the Philips driver is slightly larger than that on my Core. I've a Gerber Bit Adaptor that fits the Core but won't fit the Fuse.

I'm thinking of getting the Leatherman Bit driver which is advertised as fitting both Fuse and Core. Has anyone tried it on both models as I'm guessing that to fit the Fuse it will be slack on the Core?

Thanks,

Mark

After a bit of correspondance with Leatherman it appears there's an internal taper so the bit driver fits the narrower Core phillips as well as the Fuse so I've just ordered one.

I'm pretty certain the adaptor for the 'bitless' tools (core, fuse, kick etc) takes the Leatherman and standard bits (with the thin bits fitting across the diagonal) whereas the built in adaptor on the Charge, Wave etc can't as it's too thin. I'll find out when I get it though!

What adds to the confusion is that some dealers advertise the adaptor as specific to the smaller tools (fuse, kick, juice) whilst others include the Core. Leatherman pointed out that the variety is actually due to the sheath which takes the tool and adaptor but is not suitable for all tool sizes.

Please post when you receive the bit kit as to whether it can take standard bits. Unfortunately I have no local dealers that stock this item so cannot get my hands on one.

I finally received the Leather bit driver the other day (having been wrongly sent the extra bit kit for the wave / charge. The ebay shop was excellent about sending a replacement and I was ofered the extra bit kit for next to nothing instead of returning it.

Anyway - the kit fits the Fuse and Core. As suspected the only difference in description covers the sheath which is a bit small for the Core although it will fit in.

The sheath is excellent - the extra pockets make a huge difference and there's little extra bulk.

Here is the driver attached:

The driver then takes regular and flat bits:

All in all excellent kit, very good value (from the USA to the UK) and highly recommended.

I ordered it from gad-zooks on ebay - it cost 12.21GBP or 24.05USD including shipping. I've used them a couple of times and they've been excellent.
