Leatherman Bit Kit Shape?

Hi team - I've got a bit kit for my new LM Wave. There is now not a small screw in the universe that I woudn't be compatible with. The bits are held in two identical plastic sleeves with a curved lip at the bottom and a loop at the top. I'm curious why they are shaped this way - anyone have a clue?

Leatherman Bit Kit

They're designed to fit in the new LM sheaths. They have a pocket in the back (well, inside the sheath, but behind the tool) just for the bit holder. The "loop" at the top makes it easy to grab and pull out from the sheath; the rounded lip at the bottom of the holder fits nicely against the rounded bottom of the sheath & pocket therein.

I EDC a Leatherman Charge Ti in a new-style Wave "leather" sheath (artificial leather, but it has a snap instead of the velcro on the nylon sheaths, and no big honkin' metallic badge on the flap!). I too bought the bit kit, and keep one holder full of my favorite bits in the rear pocket. The sides are double elastic, too, forming a couple of elastic pockets; I currently carry either a Nuwai .5W AAA, Peak Matterhorn 3LED or my old Arc AAA in the frontmost side pocket. Pretty damn handy set-up; if the flap was a tad longer, I'd be able to cram my Latshaw PocketWrench in there, too...

IMHO they dropped a clanger here not making an extension which is a shame considering the variety of bits and the palce an extenion could go on the clip. :( Bummer.

Doh, of course. I've sorted my bits into just the hex, phillips and a couple of torx and slipped it inside the sheath with the wave. Thanks mate :)
