i've been using a leatherman for more than 10years and think they're great. Having recently lost my leatherman i need to replace it. I am all set to buy a leatherman charge but i have heard good things about the swiss tool original . Which one should i go for ? ( is the swisstool spirit a contender?) I use it for general handy work round the farm.
thanks todd

Go down a few threads to the one that reads Any reason not to buy a charge xti. And you will see many different opinions about both tools.

If you are a Leatherman user, you could say that the original SwissTool can be compared to the SuperTool 200 (in terms of size & weight) while the SwissTool Spirit can be compared to the LM Wave or Charge.

I'd personally recommend the SwissTool "original" for it's solid build and design. There are more than a few variations of a SwissTool (not including the smaller Spirit) so choose the one that's right for you. =)

I have both :)

The SwissTool is in my ToolBox for heavy duty work etc

The Charge is my EDC as its a little smaller/lighter, has a Sweet one hand opening blade and a great belt-clip

Farm Job? what exactly does farm jobs means? because when I go to the farm it means hard work so I take my Swisstool, is the only one that can take hard use and abuse.
I use work clothes so I'm confortable, so the weight is not an issue.
When I wear normal clothes I got for the swisstool spirit because of the size and the weight....
I hope this helps.

Good luck at the farm.
