Hello all,

I am thinking about upgrading from my origional Wave to the new Charge Ti. It looks like a great tool, and addresses my three complains about the Wave.

1. the scissors suck
2. the quality of the blade steel sucks
3. I wish it had more screwdrivers (particularly a robertson)

Does anyone have this yet? Is it really that much better to merit the upgrade I wonder? Supposidly the scissors are a lot better, and they claim the steel holds an edge 3 times longer. I also like the way it comes with the bits and the built in socket for them.

Leatherman is advertising that the scissors on all of their new tools will cut seat belts. One point to check on, I think someone said the bits and drivers are a proprietary size. You may not be able to use standard bits you may already have.

I like the look of the Blast, the replacement for the Pulse. It adds the saw I wanted.

I have the XTI, this model does not have the scissors. I have about four of their tools. This one IMO is the best.

The bits are a flattened hex, and so you would have to get extras from LM (They claim to have a 'bit kit' coming out soon with a bunch more).
Someone has ground their own bits for it though..(in muti-tool forum)

(XTi (no scissors) comes with robertson 2 and 3, but the Ti (with scissors) does not)

Look at the Multi-tool forum. There's TONS of info on the LM Charge.
Some have said that the scissors still sucks, but I don't have one yet.

You could ask your questions there as well, many pictures and opinions have formed... :D

Needs a ruler,( I used the stupid ruler on the Super Tool more times than I could count), and wire crimpers.

Those were the reasons I went back to the Super Tool from the Wave.

I just got a Ti this week, it's my first Leatherman/ Multi-tool. I think the scissors are pretty good, and the blade is sharp and seems to be holding up nicely. Over all i am pleased with it.

Oh yeah and it does have a ruler and the XTi has a crimper.

Maybe I need to revisit the idea of getting a Charge, sometimes I don't like fixing something if it's not broke, so I don't always check out something new. :o
