leatherman charge tti loose

I purchased a brand new leatherman charge tti recently through the exchange. Somehow one side/handle is so loose that I can shake open easily without much effort. Tried to tighten the hinge, which helped just a little bit and doing it more would make it very difficult to open the blade (while the handle still shake open.)

Is this loose handle normal or if not, what should I do? Thanks.

you shouldn't have to tighten the hinge... can you take a picture of the inside of the handle near the jaw.

Does anyone know if the Charge has the spring retention on the jaws like the rebar and 300 do?

the only reason I mention it is that if there is supposed to be a spring, and there isn't, it would be nice to have it fixed. That said, some people, myself included do like having the tool loose enough to just flip open, something I cannot do with my rebar due to its design.
