is it normal for my leatherman charge tti to get spot rust on the tools? the s30v blade looks fine, but everything else has small specks of rust.

is it normal? lets just say it happens (old LM joke with many MT users)
but it doesn't effect the quality or performance of their tools.

like said any steel can rust or spot, some just do it faster, some of us
have the conditions that can excel rust, higher humidities, poison-hands,
the way we store it and use it

but my LMs clean up easy and fast when they spot and I like
their steel blends and treatments because of the strength and
edge holding properties.

I really wouldn't worry about it, Leatherman makes a great tool(s)

+1  After 14 spotless :D years with various Leathermen, I have recently encountered these blemishes on my Charge TTi. It took me an entire five minutes or maybe less to rub them out. IMHO, no problem.

my leatherman kick got murdered by rust... but it still functions perfectly fine and i still use it

Thanks guys

Curious to know, how did you rub them out without scratching the surface more and thus encouraging more rust?

Get one of those Big 45 Frontier Metal Cleaner pads or Tipton metal cleaning pads they sell for removing rust from guns. They look like a silver Chore boy scrubber for washing dishes, but are not the same, they'll take rust off a blued gun without scratches and the same on your Leatherman. I use one of those and a little Ballistol to remove any rust on my knives, guns, and multi tools.

A damp cloth with Barkeepers Friend, light rubbing and a quick rinse was all it took. There were no marks visible from that treatment, but there are plenty on the blades, implements and handles anyway from use/abuse, so I don't worry much about scratches.
