I bought this because I realized I needed a multitool, and occasions where one might pry with a blade would be much better served using pliers. The fact I could buy torx bits for it make it a really good multitool for knife and gun maintenance and general work.

Its a very attractive looking tool. the titanium certainly helps with the weight and won't corrode The tools are all pretty solid but the pivots are gritty. my dad has a butter smooth leatherman wave and judging on how they are loosening up I suspect they need to wear in. I did not expect high end production knife smoothness in a complete multitool under 150.

I was attracted to the knife for 3 major features, the bit, again you can buy a 41 bit kit from leatherman which will allow to you tackle almost all knife maintance, screws, and generally everything but the most specialized jobs. the file is diamond coated on one size with would prove very useful for quick and dirty field sharpening or modification to softer metals. Although I would have to cut down a tree with the leatherman saw it is included in the tool and is made similar to a full sized saw just short, in addition which is very important both the serrated blade and sawblade are replaceable for cheap. As is the diamond file if I remember correctly.

The knife blade is actually s30v, I will update this thread with how the edge holds later on, but seeing as s30v has been used in sebenzas and high end spydercos if it is heat treated properly this is a major plus, the blade grind looks rough, but yet the sucker is SHARP, sharp enough to pushcut notebook paper and shave cleanly. The pliers are strong, I gripped and squeezed them very hard with no flexing or issues, my grip is above average so I feel like if it will safely stand up to me the average owner will be unlikely to push the pliers to breaking either, some who work manual labor everyday may be capable of damaging them but I doubt it.

Overall very impressed and happy with my purchase.

I'm with you  I've always got along just fine with the Wave but it eventually led to the TTi. The Ti and S30v is just a plus.
You can't go wrong with either tool. I find the design and layout to be most appealing.

Funny, while I liked the TTi, I sold mine, because I carry a good EDC knife and prefer the Surge as my multitool. Going to customize it as I don't need the knife blade.

I EDC a Charge AL along with one my folders, I love it. AL has aluminum handles instead of Ti and 154cm instead of S30V, it's great for a mechanic like myself.

I got a Charge in camo from Cabelas. Nice piece of gear. Thinking to drop in the pliers from a Rebar so I can have replaceable 154cm clippers.

I wear a charge tti on my belt with the bits in my left cargo pocket at work every day. The main blade rarely gets used as I'll have a fixed and folder with me as well - but I wind up using it every single day. usually when I'm in a pinch. All the weird little bits - the saw for a little drywall - pliers and snips for wireties - even the ruler on the side saves many a trip down the ladder or hollering for a tape, screwdriver, jabsaw or channel locks I should have had on me anyways but left sitting elsewhere.
