Today I picked up a leatherman core for 25$ (original 40). What's some info about this particular multitool? Did I get a good deal? Also what kind of sheath should I use for this? My other leatherman sheath is way too small along with all the other sheaths I have.

You got a very nice deal. The CORE is the predecessor to the ST300, having the same toolset except for the replaceable wire cutters, all steel handles (the CORE has plastic inserts, the ST300 were all metal) and slightly different shape (the older one was more boxy)

The SE blade, long solid Phillips and flatheads are sturdy, tough and extraordinary work tools

It's a discontinued model with many fans, touted as one of the toughest Multitools out there, size is bigger than the Wave and its tools very easy to use and open with gloves one, it keeps working even when dirt and sand get into the tool (something that the Wave and Surge have problems tolerating)

LM Wave, Gerber MP600, LM Core.

Pair it with a SAK that has scissors, or a Micra, and you've got an unbeatable combo for all and every task you may find!

I had one for many years and used it on the job daily. The pliers developed some play in them and would no longer cut stranded wires effectively. I sent it to LM for repairs and they shipped me a new Super Tool 300. Very happy with the 300 but the Core was no slouch either. I might still have the Core sheath around here somewhere. It would take some searching though:D

I might send it in for warranty then. It's got a small chip on the blade that suddenly I can't live with
