Looking for some input for those who have a leatherman crunch. How do you guys like the tool? Has anyone had is as a EDC for any lenght of time and what are your thoughts?

Something about it really makes me want to get one. I don't have a lot of MT's, just a LM Wave and a Vic. Spirit X. and they have both served me well over the past few years. With the two multitools that I do have I feel like I'm already playing with the best of the best. Just seems like time to add something new to the rotation and the crunch is unique. I cant find anywhere local that carries them so I have to order online, which i hate doing as I can't handle one so i'm looking to you for your input.

thank you!

I have a Crunch that has not made it to the EDC rotation yet. Two comments, although the "visegrip" feature is very cool, and seems quite sturdy, deploying the pliers is a bit more "fiddley" than simply opening up a swisstool or wave, and you only have about half the blades you have in other multi-tools. It's a good mix of stuff, just not the full variety (like 3 sizes of slot screwdriver blades...) that you have on the other multi-tools

Thanks the comments Mahoney.

I ended up finding one in a local sporting goods shop today. It followed me home and I couldnt be happier with it really. At first I thought opening it and getting the hinge thing to hook in was a bit of a pain but after doing it a few times it can easily be done without looking at it or thinking. visegrips do seem pretty sturdy and lock onto things well, I know i'll be getting some use out of this. Now the only issue is picking which one to carry for the day...

I had one for an EDC for a few weeks. The vise grips are OK until you really try to bear down on them, especially on larger diameters. They tended to pop off as the hinge system on the pliers does not work well on larger stuff even though they say it will. The Kershaw 100A has a better vise grip system. I have carried LM tools for almost 40 years. This is the only one that I have not chose to EDC. I currently carry a LM Ti Charge and a Kershaw 100A.

i personally havent had or used a leatherman crunch but a co worker of mine has one and he likes it. i think it would be a pain to open all the time. i have a victorinox spirit aswell and i love it for home use. but i personally prefer out of all my MT's the leatherman supertool 300. i use it every day multiple times a day and it has served me well. hope this helps
