On the Leatherman web site I've learnt (too late) that the Leatherman Juice tools do NOT feature locking blades  - is that true?
I've already ordered a C2 but haven't received it until now. Does anybody already own a Juice? Is there really no locking mechanism?
How can a tool maker who with high quality standards issue a modern multi tool which is IMO neither safe nor handy
What do you think?

Thanks for your answers and have a nice week

You are correct, the Juice line does not feature locking tools or blades. However, I am pretty sure the tools and blades are safe to use, just like any slipjoint. My understanding is that the Juice line is meant to compete with SAK's, few of which have locking blades without being rendered unsafe.

Both the inner and outer tools on the Juice line operate as slipjoints, with a backspring helping to hold the tool open. The springs on the inner tools are quite stiff and are comparable to the Alox-handled Victorinox SAKs. The springs on the outer tools are noticeably less stiff.

I should add that the Juice models are my favorite multitool. I carry an S2 or Kf4 nearly every weekday, and they are ideal for my purposes. They are, however, light-duty tools. If you need a heavy-duty tool, in particular something that locks, there are many other models from Leatherman, Gerber, or SOG to choose from.

Corona, easy mate. Leatherman made the Juice line
as LIGHT duty pocket tool. They do THAT very well.

I carry a Kf4 most of the time now but when I need
a HEAVY duty tool it's the Supertool for me. :D

So I'd say not to worry mate. Give your new Juice
a chance and I'll bet you become fast friends.

I bought the Juice CS2 not as a heavy duty tool, of course. For heavy duty I use a Leatherman Crunch and a Voctorinox Swiss Tool (better than Leatherman because of the extra L-shaped bit-key ).
Now that I hold my new CS2 in hands I have to say that the slipjoints are really rather stiff, but I'd like to have the knife locked, though. Nevertheless it's the lightest tool today including plyers, a bottle/can opener, and a corkscrew. The only thing I don't understand is why the KF4 model is the only one of the Juices with a ruler
