Leatherman Juice question

My C2 didn't come with a sheath. I was looking for a muli-tool that I could easily carry in my pockets, not just in jeans. It fits that bill well.

Thanks Arne, I was checking them out on Leatherman's website, so now I have to decide which one to get. I like the options available, although I have very liitle use for a corkscrew.

I just got a CS4 and love it. Great fit and finish and the anodizing looks pretty durable. I carry it in the small change pocket in my jeans pretty comfortably (it does stick out a little - but makes it easier to grab).

I think they are going to give SAK's a run for their money with this series.

I threw an XE6 and Surefire E1 in my travel shaving kit.

Haven't travelled much lately, but I feel like I'm set.

I have a juice S2, it fits nicely in a coin pocket and has handy tools. I don't like it nearly as much as my other leathermen, it feels watered down like a SAK. The fit and finish isn't nearly up to par with the rest (the inside of the aluminum liners is pretty sharp on mine) although it may have been produced on an off-day. Some tools require an extreme amount of effort to open and then are virtually frictionless to close (and close forcefully once you begin the motion)
For its size it is great, but I am spoiled from what I used to carry :)

It's a cute tool for sure. I love the design and the color choices as well as the size. The tools are easily accessible. What I did not like was the awkward grip of the pliers. The tool wants to slip out of my hand. I didn't buy it.

Uranium,

I think you must have gotten a "Monday Morning" tool. I've got four of them and the fit and finish is very good. The tools on mine do require some force to open but definitely snap into place. I've put mine to some pretty hard use and haven't had a tool close on me yet. You might want to send it back to Leatherman or at least email them. IMHO they have great customer service.

I've also been looking at the different kinds of multitools.
Which ones would you guys recommend. Comfortable grip while squeezing? One handed opening?

Thanks.

Based on what you're looking for I think the Leatherman Wave fits the bill. Gerber makes something called the Legend but I don't think it's on par with the Leatherman. The Gerber handles spring open and the tool is too wide for my medium sized hands.

I have a Wave and love it. It has both a serrated sheepsfoot and a clip point blade that opens one-handed. The tool is very comfortable to grip when using the pliers.

A word about the wave.......Try it BEFORE you buy it if you're left handed.
The Wave, like the juice, is great engineering . It does, however, have to compromise
about handedness. I bought one when they first came out ,but found that for left hand
use it was more a pain to use than functional. If you find that you don't like the wave or the
juice take a peek at the Pulse. It fixes most of the problems of the original PST & PST II.
If I were to choose a Juice my leanings are to Yellow Kf4. It is the same tool set up as my
old pal Supertool.

Good point...being right handed I hadn't thought about that at all. Of the Juice tools I think I like the Glacier best. (The blue one.) Gotta have scissors and I don't want to carry a Micra too.:) I too like the Pulse but neither it nor the Juice tools can be opened one handed.

I've never owned a pair of multi-pliers before, but my friend has an old pair and it's gone pretty loose. So loose that the handles move when you want to open the nose. Does anyone have that problem?

Just a note I could "Flick" open a brand new Pulse,
the first try about 1/2 way (After 2 years my WAVE only
opens about 3/4 of the way) Once it's open that far it's
very easy to get it fully open, but I don't know how
you could get the blade out one-handed. :(

I'm a righty, but I'm really good with my left too.
Still don't think there's anyway I could open my
WAVE blades with only my left....Well maybe one...But I wouldn't!

Maybe I was ruined by the WAVE, and Micra, but I didn't like
the Pulse's Scissors AT ALL! Oh but what a blade the Pulse
has  it looks deadly! ;)

YC: Never been a real problem with my Leathermans,
It may just need to be cleaned, and oiled.
(Leatherman.com talks some about how they say to do it)

YMMV

OK. Broke down and got the Juice S2. Picked it for it's slimness and the fact that I really don't need a corkscrew on my multi-tool. I like the way I can just drop it into a pocket and carry comfortably or use the coin pocket on jeans. So far, so good. It'll get alot of carry time.
