Hopefully this is the right forum to talk about Leatherman knives .
I recieved this folder as a giveaway from a local tool supplier ( I spend a lot on tools every year ) .
I've had it for a few years and never really used it . My son needed a knife to take on a weekend trip away with friends and so I gave him the folder to take as it has a folding clip on one end that he used to attach it to his day bag , and if it was lost or damaged I wouldn't cry to much.
I sharpened it before he left and it came up very sharp .
When I got it back after the trip I decided to carry it myself for a few days to see what it was like .
I must say its actually quite a good little knife , much to my surprise .
Does anyone else have a Leatherman knife , not Multitool ?
Here is a picture of it and my SAK that I'm carring today .

Yup... they really are quite good knives. I have 10 of them, A Klamath and several from the C, E, H, and K series. They're good little knives, the E and K series in particular. And the Klamath is an almost ZT-level beast. They're all comfy, sturdy, and very well-priced. It's too bad they discontinued the 3-inch models and the 154cm ones.

To be honest, I never cared for the other Leatherman knives, but I really like the Crater c33T. Don't know how you would classify it, but I think of my Crater as a knife rather than multitool, even though it also has two screwdrivers and a carabiner. It fits my hand nicely, I like the blade size and shape, it holds sharpness well enough for me and is easy to resharpen, the open pillared construction makes it easy to clean, and I love the flipper. Except for the blade, the tools don't lock, but strong detents help keep them from folding in use. Years ago I had a similar model, now discontinued, that I thought showed promise but was not yet all the way there. This one is is the perfection of that line.

I had one like it...I tried real hard to kill it and abused it all the time, opening cans, prying, etc. but it just wouldn't die. Tough little knife.

I owned a Crater C33. A good knive. I used it for garden work, around the house and at work. I gave it away to a friend who's very happy with it.

I like some of the crater models because they have similar tools to a SAK while being a full sized knife, but I could never pull the trigger on one.
