I know there is a sub-forum on multi-tools, but in this case this is a knife I just looked at. Anyway, I recently had the opportunity to look at and handle a Leatherman k502x Knife. It appeared to be very well made and was very smooth opening and has great blade steel. The attachments were quality made, as always with Leatherman. I'm interested in possibly purchasing one of these knives, but don't know enough about them to be confident in the purchase. I know Leatherman makes quality products, but this is something new they've tried. I just need some input on this. I like to research things as much as possible before I make a decision. Since this forum has so many knowledgeable forumites, I figured I ask for some advise and possible input. Has anyone else had the opportunity to handle one of these knives, or have one? All input is very welcomed and appreciated.

Have seen these advertised in various outdoor magazines. I'm curious about them as well--especially the ones with 154CM.

Guyon, as far as I know there are different models and come in different sizes and blade steels. Some of the smaller versions have the 420J blade, one with 154CM blade steel. There are also 2 large models one with 420J blade steel, and one with the 154CM blade steel. Small models have liner-locks and one model with lock-back. Both Large models have the lock-back. Hope this helps. You may have to checkout the Leatherman web site.

Guyon, Sorry, I made a mistake on the knives. Both large versions of the knives are 154CM blade steel, and all smaller versions have the 154CM blade steel, but 1 which has the 420 blade steel. I would direct you to the Leatherman site, except I'm not that knowledgeable with the computer on how exactly how to do that. I apologize.
