Leatherman knives...

I was at an outdoor store a day or so ago and I saw some Leatherman knives displayed.

Any opinions on these? Whats the quality like from that company? Is the buy in worth it?

Is it a good knife for putting into a day-trip hiking pack and not thinking too much about if its lost or damaged?
 
What is your problem with their knives? I found the blades on their Leatherman Wave and Charge Xti to be super sharp and well-shaped. I assumed that their knives would have the same quality o f blades. Is it the ergonomics of their knives or the blade itself that you didn't like?
 
mainly the ergos of the handles. they seem quite clunky to me and more than that nothing really sticks out to me. there are so many knives, many of which do appeal to me that i wouldnt buy a knife that didnt have an appeal. there are jus ttoo many knives to settle for something that doesnt wow me at this point.

im sure theyre fine knives its just that there are better knives out there sometimes for less.

also on the ones that i have handled the locks dont feel as sturdy as i havecome to expect. definatley go for the lock back knives the liners felt really flimsy compared to alot of other knive sive handled.
