I have a leatherman pst. I would like to replace the knurled screws with hex head screws. OR slotted chicago screws if i cannot find hex head screws.

I'd much rather have the hex head 1/4 or 5/16 size than the slotted. But at this point, id take anything over the factory stuff.

I've searched the web to some degree and cant find anything. I found out that they do make chicago screws of the right post diameter, and of correct, or modifiable lengths. BUT I havent found them in stainless. And they've all had slotted heads.

Could anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks and God bless.

McMasterCarr amy have what you are looking for. Try searching "ss screw posts" on their site.

Another fastener that may work is one of the screws that they use for bicycle chainrings. Some knife supply places stock them.

Been a long time with no comment from this thread, but I'm guessing the bolt/screw threads are 3.5mm x 0.6mm pitch by about 10mm long (M3.5-0.6 by 10mm long) for that knurled head screw. I am trying to find a longer screw due to a mod I am making and have such screws on order,,, we'll see if they thread into the long hollow through bushing/bearing.

Heck I done forgot about it. I probably will just get a special wrench for it.

Amazing how time flies........... In what I am doing I am needing a longer screw so I can install an external tool.

That’s cool. If I had a longer screw I could make a pocket clip. That might be just the ticket.

I bet I could remove the lanyard and I’d have enough length with the existing hardware. Might have to drill a small hole in the handle for a locator pin on the clip.

I’ll have to think on it more. Never considered that before.
