One of my blades is loose on my leatherman, where can I get a torx head with a hole in the center of it, so I can work on the thing myself instead of sending it off to Leatherman, everytime I want something tightened??

Someone has got to know where the tool is.

Thanks

Try Ace or Crown Hardware. In my experience, they have great multi-bit tools on the cheap, around $12.00, and multi-packs of bits.

Reg Torx won't work on that one. LM don't want no DIY's.
BM says no, but sells the silly tools. Go figure that one.
LM doesn't say no, but they use a fastener with a unique head.

Bon Chance, mon ami.

Two plans of action:

1.) Buy a newer tool, sometime in the past two years Leatherman switched from the impossible to find 5-point Torx Security ++ to the much easier to find 6-point Torx Security. Drivers/bits for the 6-point can be found everywhere.

2.) If you are intent to do it yourself you can take a small flathead, insert it into the star bit and snap off the center pin. Once this is done, insert a larger flathead that just barely engages two of the points and tighten.

I've done this to a few tools, if you're extra careful you can tighten the bolts without breaking the center pin but I just go ahead and do it because I don't plan to send my tools for repair.

What model Leatherman?

Let’s see if we can find the right forum …

Knifekits.com sells a set of exotic bits from the look of it might have one that works, often thought about tinkering with my leatherman, i should of bought one when i ordered from them a month or two back. Look under their tool section under screwdrivers.

The knifekits.com are six-lobe, useful for the current Leathermans but not for the older models with the five-lobe fasteners.

Last time I checked one still needed to A) find a place that sold these drivers and B) provide enough permission slips to convince the place to sell them to you. I understand it helps to own a business related to the electronics industry.

Ok, my leatherman's are the new model Charge TTi and XTI, so their both six point, now what size? T 7, T 8, T 9, T 10, ? I think its T 10, am I right?

Thanks for all the info when I determine the size I'm going with Wiha tools.

Thanks again
