Leatherman Micra. Excessive scissor blade play?

Very excited to have received my brand new Leatherman Micra only moments ago  . However, this one seems to have excessive play where the scissor blades are fastened to one another. Best I can describe it is I can "wiggle" the two halves of the tool when open.

When looking at the picture below, my tool has more space above the top of the "hook" piece below where the scissors pivot. This allows the right side of the tool to swing forward and back, creating the play; if that makes sense.

Wondering if this is normal, or if my Micra should be tighter. If it should be tighter I'm thinking of sending it straight in to Leatherman instead of back to where I ordered it from.

If I understand correctly, what you describe seems normal. My copy does that, and has been working fine for close to 15 years. Cut a facial tissue or a section of toilet paper and see what happens. If it slices clean from point to pivot, you're golden.

Mine's probably 5 years old, and the scissors also have a bit of play. As I recall, it was tight when I got it, but loosened up quickly with use. Now, it will not cut fabric or toilet paper, but it will cut heavier, stiffer stuff like paper and tape pretty well.

It's hard to get scissors right.

I agree with znapschatz though: the proof is in the pudding. If it works for your nees, don't sweat it.
