Leatherman MUT vs. Wave + RAIL combo?

I've already got a Wave. Two actually. It's my preferred multitool that I carry in my EDC bag. I've been eyeing the Leatherman MUT for a while hoping to pick one up for cheep on the bay to keep on hand in my range bag for AR-15 maintenance, but dang those things are pricey.

Then a couple of weeks ago I became aware of the existence of the Leatherman RAIL, which looks like I can pick up in the $25-$35 range. I'm wondering if actually having the smaller RAIL paired with my Wave, might actually be handier than just the MUT by itself. Anybody used either of these, and would I be missing out on anything with the RAIL+Wave combo that I'd get from the MUT? Nobody around me stocks anything but standard Leatherman multitools, so I've never handled the MUT or the RAIL. Thanks.

I like the Charge, very similar to the Wave.
If you are carrying a range bag then you can carry specific AR15 tools that would cost a lot less than the MUT, and then carry your Wave.
