leatherman pivot wear question

Im wondering since you cant lube the pivot on the pliers, how come it never seems to wear and get sloppy? Also can someone explain to me how that pivot works or how its made, it looks to me like it would be dry metal on metal.

Mine seems to lube up ok. I put a drop or two of lube on there, and it seems to seep in. I dunno. I've had my supertool for years and never had any problems with it.
