I was thinking about picking up the leatherman H503/h502 for work..i use my knife every day and these knives caught my eye..although discontinued i still like that model leatherman produced...anyway, does anyone have anything good/bad to say about these knives? They look quite useful, they have decent blade steel and definetly are built solid and tough.

any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks!

I never heard anything bad about the quality of the leatherman knives.

So, to me, it comes down to whether you like the designs themselves and how they fit the hand.

For a work knife, in a bag or box, the current prices seem to indicate a potential buy.

Ditto.

I've had pretty good success with mine. It's not the most whiz bang, but it does the job of cutting, taking an edge, and not needing a touch up every 5 minutes. The bit driver is nice and the bottle opener is great.

I got mine on close out from Dick's Sporting Goods for around 22 dollars (clearance, last one in stock, display knife with no packaging), and I'm very pleased with it. It's a nice cheap tool-heavy beater for work or travel.

Mine had a screwdriver blade that snapped off on a knife. The blade steel was mediocre, although they make some on S30V now, I think.

My Surge multitool rusts.

I think there many better choices, like anything from Spyderco, Kershaw, Bencmade, Victorinox, and many more.

i got a K503 (154cm blade) and i like it for the times i want to carry more knife then multi-tool, otherwise i use the wave...it's heavy but does feel good in the hand...and i like that it has a carabiner so i can either use that or the pocket clip (can't do that with a wave!)...
