Anyone with a Sideclip? Thinking of getting one for my light days, when I go to jogging pants(which means no belt to carry my crunch).

This would be a multi for both work and home. I'd probably end up getting the tool adapter for it and carry that in my pocket, so the lack of hex adapter(love that on my crunch) isn't a problem(I use torx and phillips a lot).

75% sure I'm getting one at month end, just doing a final check by getting reviews off users of this model.

Thanks.

Patrick> I bought my brother one of those last year for Christmas. I think he uses it. I will ask him and see what he thinks. I really like it but have not seen it since last Christmas. Take Care obtw I sent you an email...?

Craig, just got home, replied to email.

I'll take any reviews I can get, even if it's not someone who uses a multi heavily.

I had one for a short time – I really liked the clip, but it didn’t have enough tools and I found myself wanting to carry another multi-tool along with it, which kind of defeats the purpose.

What I would really like is a PST II with a clip.

VW, I'm a fan of the lean and mean LM SideClip. It doesn' have all the bells and whistles of the larger multi-tools but the tradeoffs are worthwhile. No sheath (and belt) is necessary--you can clip 'em wherever you want to: pocket, waistband, boot or briefcase. Although its size is in-between the smaller and larger LMs, imo, the SideClip feels sturdier than the Wave. It has most of the tools you need and none of the tools that you probably don't need. (I think most people could improvise for the tool(s) that is/are "missing" on the SideClip).

The small clip blade of the SideClip is adequate since I'm usually carrying a standard folder anyway. If I only want to carry one tool and need a larger blade, then I would carry my LM Wave and leave my folder home. I like to travel light and yet be sufficiently equipped so the SideClip works for me on most days.

I like my SideClip. It's thinner and seems lighter than the other multi's. It's got basic functionality and it's the easiest of all of them for pocket carry. If I carry in a sheath, I go with my SuperTool.

I've always been curious - does the Sideclip have edges that are rolled over to make them more comfortable when using the pliers, or are they like the original PST. I'll admit it, I'm a wuss about that...;)

Handled today in local, buying a juice cs4. .5oz more, 2x the toys, though the price is about 1/2 again as much at local.

the sideclip I handled had rounded sides on it.

I solved the elastic waistband, summer dilema by buying a nylon sheath for my wave, cutting the belt loop off it and soft riveting a belt clip from a cell phone pouch to it. Sits on the waist band of my shorts and track pants and doesn't 'pull my pants down' too much.

I have a couple of the Juice line and the thing about them is that they're thick, almost 2x thicker than the SideClip. So even though they're light and small, they take more room in my pocket than the SideClip and I'm less inclined to carry them.

As the saying goes, "Different strokes for different folks." I'm glad that there's a variety of multi-tools that fit the different needs for us all. :D

tarsier, the SideClip does not have "rolled over" edges (as does the Wave) that face the palm and fingers when in the pliers mode. It is the regular open channel that is on the outside edge of the handle. However, I wouldn't describe the edges as "too sharp," rather, I find it "smooth" enough for my comfort--others may have a different opinion. This is one of the tradeoffs that I am willing to give for the slim and convenient carry of the SideClip.

I have the Wave, PST II, Sideclip and Victorinox Tool. The Sideclip was nice when you don't have a belt on or just need to grab a multi-tool for a quick job an clip it to your pocket. My son also had one and carried his every day along with a Military. He lost his and now mine is in his pocket.

Two problems with the Sideclip, one was that the clip got caught on something and bent out. With the no tamper screws I had to cut a slot in the tamper proof fastner with a cutoff wheel from my Dremel tool. Took off the clip, straightened it and it is all better now. However, my son has cut a coat hanger and gotten a burr on the cutter edge that I have to take care of as soon as he comes home from college.

Overall, I think the Sideclip is a valuable addition to anyone's multi-tool collection.

I just got my sideclip today from Sports Authority. The advertised price in the display was 29.99... I get to the register and rung up and with tax it came out to $26, it was on sale, can't beat that. I like it because it is small enough not to feel bulky like others would seem especially if to carry in your pocket and since I rarely wear a belt the sheath would be a slight problem. Also, being only 18 and in college seeing someone with a sheath on their hip kind of stands out and draws attention which is not needed even though it looks like a bali clipped to my back pocket. It feels really sturdy and the tools lock up pretty good even though they lack a true lock. I would have gotten the PST II but I thought to myself that I don't really need the file or scissors or added size and weight. The blade on this thing is shaving sharp, definitely not how the display model felt! Oh yea, they also had a BM 551S in the display which I've never seen there before, they guy working there had no idea about any of the knives, figures. They also have an ascent II and mini tsek there. I will update to this thread as I begin to really use the sideclip.
