Leatherman steel

This is from their web site FAQ page for what it's worth;
Leatherman tools are made of 400-series stainless steel. Carbon content and heat-treated hardness vary depending on the specific implement.

I think that most standard leatherman tools are 420 steel.

my charge is 154cm. broke the tip off and havent sent it in for repair (probably wont), but I have done that before and they sent me a new one.

My Charge is 154CM, too. I think it's 400-series unless the blade is marked otherwise.

Leatherman uses 420HC in all components unless especially marked. The coated driver bits should be some sort of tool steel. There's a few earlier threads on bladeforums about this.

The Surge knife blades are 420HC. As are the Wave, Core, Blast, Fuse, Kick, Supertool Etc. The Various Charge plain edge blades are premium steels, and vary by model - it would be noted on the tang.
