I was thinking about getting the tool adapter for the wave.

I would like to here from others that have them first.

What about that leather sheath that hold the wave and tool adapter together?
Do they fit the sheath good?

My dad has the adapter and he thinks it is very useful, he users it alot. I don't think it fits very well in the sheath, my dad has put two rubber holders for bits that go in the adapter down each side the the wave down the middle and put the adapter down the front(the thin bit). He doesn't carry it unless he knows he is going to use it because the sheath is too big and heavy with all the bits in it.
Hope this helps.

I got the adapter strictly because I collect multi-tools and I like to tinker around with things that have spare parts:rolleyes: I carry the Wave every day and forgot about the adapter till I read your post.Since I am normally near a wide selection of tools,I prefer to go for the specific tool required as opposed to carrying the adapter. If you don't have that luxury or if you're camping, traveling, etc. it could probably come in handy. Can't address the sheath issue...I only have the plastic adapter case.

I bought the adapter for use with some equipment that needed the bits. I don't work on that type of equipment anymore, so I haven't used it much. It was fine for its purpose, maybe slightly uncomfortable to use due to the sharp edges on the closed Wave. One thing to watch out for is that the tool steel in the bits needs extra attention to prevent rust. I can't comment on the sheath, since I had the plastic case also.

I may have to get one just to try it.

I would like to have one to use on 1/4" and 5/16" screw heads.

I was thinking I could use the adapter "as is" for the 1/4" and then get a 5/16" bit that would then fit into the adapert.

I would then just have the adapter and the 5/16 bit to carry in my pocket.

Many things I work on have the 1/4" and 5/16" screw heads.

I do appliance repair and refrigeration work and many time there are just a few srews to remove to get into a unit.

Thanks for the info.

I have the tool adaptor for my Leatherman PST II. I keep in in my range bag along with a small hard rubber case of about 25 bits I got for a few dollars at Walmart. In this application it works well. I would not carry the adaptor and bits on my belt. It is too cumbersome.
